Your Innkeepers

Steve and Susie Harris are Innkeepers at Anna V's. As newlyweds and new innkeepers, they became owners in 2009. They love living in Lanesboro, exploring this amazing area, and serving the wonderful guests who stay at Anna V’s!

Susie grew up in Central Minnesota, and loves cooking, antiquing, fishing, gardening, and riding “Pearl” (her Harley Heritage Softail) on the scenic roads of Bluff Country.

Steve grew up in Northern California. His hobbies are writing, reading, and golf, and he thinks that a bike trail with strategically-placed pie shops is a pretty terrific idea.

Rusty, our friendly Irish Setter, rounds out our Inn-family.

“Anna V’s Bed & Breakfast is very welcoming—we fell in love with it the first moment we saw it. The front porch is such a great spot to relax on a summer evening, the upstairs balcony offers a quiet hideaway, and our neighborhood—just a short walk from the river and downtown—is filled with pretty homes and friendly people. Lanesboro and Bluff Country offer unique getaways, every season of the year. We think you’ll love it as much as we do!”

Steve and Susie Harris, Anna V's Innkeepers

This Victorian home, built in 1908 by Anna Vickerman, was designed in the classic Queen Anne style with a wraparound front porch, intricately designed filigree, carved woodwork, and a distinctive turret.

Local legend says Anna, recently widowed after the death of her husband, Isaac, sat on the front lawn in her rocking chair and personally inspected the construction of the house. We think she had a good eye and would still be proud of her home more than a century later!

Anna and her two daughters (Hazel and Ola) lived here for about a decade, followed by a  number of other families (including that of beloved Lanesboro historian Don Ward). In 1998, the home was transformed into Anna V’s Bed and Breakfast by Tammy Steffke. After Tammy, Mike and Gail Eckerman were Innkeepers, followed by current owners, Steve and Susie Harris.

The home’s main floor has gentlemen’s and ladies’ parlors, a dining room, and kitchen. There are three bedrooms on the second floor. The third-floor serves as the innkeeper’s quarters. There’s a century-old horse barn on the property, and our expanding garden provides fresh fruit and vegetables, including raspberries, apples, and rhubarb.
